Our mission is to provide opportunities for exchange of ideas, research, and practice in the fields of Transfusion Medicine and Cellular Therapy. The organization’s membership consists of professionals from hospital transfusion services, blood centers, reagent and equipment vendors, and medical schools in the southeastern United States.
The 2018 annual Southeastern Association of Blood Banker’s meeting is fast approaching, and we are excited to have several new speakers joining us this year. Once again we are pleased to offer P.A.C.E continuing education credits throughout the two-day meeting. Presentations that appeal to both the novice and the seasoned blood bank professional are scheduled this year along with sessions related to laboratory management. We hope that this meeting will provide attendees with information that enhances their personal knowledge and leads to improved processes in their workplaces. Perhaps most importantly, the annual meeting provides a unique opportunity for networking and connecting with colleagues from different institutions across the Southeast.
Our organization is fortunate to have the support of a large group of vendors. Their generosity enables us to offer exceptional educational sessions while keeping the cost affordable for attendees. We have a record number of vendors attending this year and are grateful to the support of each and every one of them.
I look forward to interactions with old friends and colleagues as well as meeting first-time attendees during our two days together. Please join us on Thursday evening for round table discussions in a relaxed setting at the host hotel. This event will provide an ideal venue for networking while waiting out the Atlanta traffic!
Finally…this is your meeting! I urge you to become more active in our organization by volunteering, becoming a delegate or simply providing feedback about the meeting.
