Welcome to the Southeast Area Blood Banker’s website. Our mission is to provide opportunities for exchange of ideas, research, and practice in the fields of Transfusion Medicine and Cellular Therapy. The organization’s membership consists of professionals from hospital transfusion services, blood centers, reagent and equipment vendors, and medical schools in the southeastern United States.
The 2017 annual Southeastern Association of Blood Banker’s meeting is fast approaching and we are excited to have such fabulous speakers presenting this year’s sessions. Once again we are pleased to offer up to 10 P.A.C.E continuing education credits throughout the two day meeting. Attendees will be able to test their blood bank knowledge, learn about 7-day platelets, Lean operations, and succession planning among many other topics. We hope that this meeting will provide attendees with information to either validate processes or make process improvements in their own institutions. In addition, this meeting serves as a great venue for networking and connecting with colleagues from different institutions in the Southeast.
The organization is fortunate to have the support of a large group of vendors. Their generosity enables us to offer exception educational sessions while keeping the cost affordable for attendees. Their support allows the organization to offer scholarships to individuals in need and provides the organization with nationally recognized speakers. We have a record number of vendors attending this year and are grateful to the support of each and every one of them.
Lastly, we know that many facilities are facing critical staffing shortages and appreciate the support of the many institutions that are represented at the annual meeting. Our organization is strong because of the support of our attendees and institutional members. We continue to strive as an organization to bring educational opportunities and invaluable networking to our members. Please take a moment to look around the website and see the exciting program we have to offer for the 2017 annual meeting.
I hope to see some familiar faces and meet the individuals that are new to the profession or first time attendees. Please do not hesitate to introduce yourself to myself or members of the board. And if you are interested in becoming more active by volunteering or being a delegate please reach out to me and discuss your interests. Let’s make the 2017 annual SEABB meeting a huge success!
